For his sophomore effort, Philadelphia author Andy Abramowitz, whose first novel Thank You, Goodnight was at times both poignant and hilarious, has written another tale that’s, well, both poignant and hilarious. It’s a tale of two siblings, one an engineer who designs roller coasters and the other a journalist, whose lives take unexpected developments over the course of one summer. As their lives are propelled through each twist and turn, we’re along for the ride as they encounter, through Abramowitz’s clever telling, love, loss, redemption and the strength of family bonds. It’s a curious, funny and touching journey, a well-crafted tale with sharply drawn compelling characters. Like a rollercoaster ride, you’ll be both sorry when it is over but happy you took the chance.
