“I’ve always loved technology and I’ve always loved business,” said Anthony Mongeluzo.
Mongeluzo is the president and CEO of PCS, LLC and has held that title for over twenty years.
“I haven’t gotten a promotion in twenty-two years,” he joked.
PCS has locations across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Boston, and California but it’s first location was Rowan University, while Mongeluzo was a student there.
“I started PCS– unknowingly– twenty-two years ago, ironically enough, at Rowan,” he said
Mongeluzo said that his IT company provides a unique service for businesses, non-profits, and government entities. The business/operations model he created at Rowan was so valuable that he started getting traction as a one-man company right away.
“I basically started out doing, small business and residential IT support and I was able to pick up enough business by the time I graduated, I had an operation going on.
“And frankly when I saw some of the local competitors… I thought I could do a better job when I saw what they were doing, what they were charging, and how they were delivering service. Me as a twenty-year-old kid I’m like ‘I could do way better, and I could cut all the red tape,’” Mongeluzo said.
Now, PCS has grown beyond what Mongeluzo’s 20-year-old self could have imagined.
“So, what we do now is, we’re a team of 200+ and we support businesses, nonprofits, government entities with their technologies. It’s literally been a crazy ride in the sense of one [employee] to 200+,” he said.
Mongeluzo said that a vital part of PCS’s future is fighting the growing threat of ransomware attacks.
“We created a whole new division about two years ago which is exploding due to cyber-crime… we’re going nationally and internationally to help companies that have been hit with ransomware attacks to help them clean up more efficiently.”
As one of the first members of JerseyMan’s chairman’s club, Mongeluzo said that it has been a great thing to be a part of for both his company and the surrounding community.
“Not only was I one of the first chairmen leaders… I believed in the concept so much and what it’s doing for the small businesses and the business community in general, it’s a no-brainer.
“I think what people like seeing too, is that it’s the Dunek family… I think people see that and I think it’s kind of inspiring. A lot of people would wanna work with their family,” he said.
For PCS, Mongeluzo has no plans of slowing down his company’s expansion rate.
“We’re expanding our core business…We’re gonna continue, as I always like to say, I used to say this at Rowan, we’re gonna crawl across the country. We just keep going up, down, east, and west.”
